Veterinarian Senior

This is a professional position acting as a specialist in animal health disease control and eradication programs. The incumbent is responsible for managing disease reporting, emergency permitting, and permitting outreach during disease outbreaks; completing epidemiologic investigations; writing investigation reports; developing and implementing biosecurity and herd clean-up plans in conjunction with the epidemiologist, State Veterinarian, and USDA-APHIS-Veterinary Services representative; performing foreign animal disease investigations; providing assistance to law enforcement in the investigation of alleged humane or neglect cases; providing assistance to public health officials in investigation of zoonotic diseases; and participating in special projects.
