LABOR SUPERVISOR I (PROVISIONAL)

An incumbent to a position in this class is a working supervisor assigning and directing Laborers and other personnel in maintenance and cleaning tasks. The Labor Supervisor I works hand in hand with his personnel and the nature of the work includes a small degree of technical knowledge. The incumbent has the responsibility for seeing that the work is done in an efficient manner, on schedule and in accordance with approved procedures. Work is reviewed in process and upon completion by a superior. Supervises personnel and participates in the performance of the following tasks:,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, -maintenance of storm drains, manholes, catch basins, curbs, gutters, retaining walls, park areas, grounds, buildings, etc.;,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, -minor repairs to grass cutting instruments and tools, water sprinkling equipment and a variety of other machinery and tools necessary in the work of general grounds maintenance;,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, -loading and unloading of materials and supplies;,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, -cleaning of streets, receivers, catch basins, removal of ice and snow and other related activities;,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, -cleaning of vacant apartments;,,,,,,
