Medical Laboratory Scientist Supervisor

To oversee the operation of a medical and/or environmental laboratory and its staff; and other related duties as assigned. Supervise laboratory staff including, hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling; set goals; plan and supervise work; ensure that quality standards are met and maintained. Provide technical and scientific oversight of the laboratory by evaluating and selecting test procedures and equipment; developing, and revising the Lab Policy and Procedure Manual; and preparing the lab for inspection and certification by accreditation agencies. Perform and interpret laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other bodily fluids; prepare and examine smears and cultures for pathogenic organisms; conduct chemical, physical, and microscopic examinations on environmental specimens; interpret results; and review results for accuracy before releasing them to clients.
