Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Correctional Health

The current vacancy is at the Law Enforcement Center. The eligibility list created by this vacancy may be used to hire other vacancies in the department. This is a 0.8 FTE vacancy. Under direct supervision assist the Registered Nurse – Correctional Health in the provision of nursing services by carrying out prescribed treatments including administering medications, injections, and/or immunizations and performing various diagnostic or preventive screening tests. Works collaboratively with the on-site healthcare team and correctional personnel to perform job specific functions unique to the correctional environment and inmate population; and to perform related duties as assigned. Provide direct care to patients according to treatment plans, such as checking vital signs, monitoring blood glucose, dressing wounds, administering injections and oral medications, and any other ordered treatments within scope of practice; and monitor the status of mental health patients, making appropriate notifications and referrals.
