Correctional Officer

The Ramsey County Correctional Facility is hiring for part-time (intermittent) correctional officer positions. The hours consist of three shifts 0700-1500, 1500-2300 and 2300-07000. To maintain security and ensure the safety of residents and staff at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Facility and the Ramsey County Correctional Facility; to observe and monitor resident behavior and supervise and facilitate their daily living activities; to maintain ongoing communication with those confined; to enforce all rules, regulations, and policies of the facility; and, to perform related duties as assigned. Oversee residents during job assignments, meals, recreation, extra duty, and visiting to ensure the security and safety of s and staff; observes, monitors, records and reports any unusual resident activity or behavior. Conduct security check of buildings and grounds to ensure that residents are securely confined. Conduct shakedowns, search residents, living quarters, and work areas for contraband or weapons.
