Associate Civil Engineer

Position Title: Associate Civil Engineer specialized services and other material used by the department/division. Work Location: The City of Detroit, 2 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48226 Work Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM Analyze project scope, review and evaluate field conditions and data. Develop and design engineering solutions. Manage preparation of engineering construction plans. Ensure construction is in conformance with plans, specifications, budget, codes and applicable standards. Manage and interpret construction projects and plans. Create project documents, prepare and maintain records and reports. Oversee, supervise, and inspect work of contractors or other workforce, as needed. Manage and supervise inspectors and other staff assigned to projects. Instruct, counsel, mentor, and advise project team and subordinates on assignments and difficult tasks to see that work is performed satisfactorily to meet expected standards. Represent the department/division with individual or groups of citizens, public agencies or with private groups.
