Incumbents of positions in this series fabricate needed metal products, parts and tools; install, repair and maintain items of sheet metal such as those in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems and related equipment; repair and maintain metal roofs, gutters, drains, motor vehicles and snow removal equipment; maintain a variety of hand and power vehicles and snow removal equipment; maintain a variety of hand and power tools; and perform related work as required. The basic purpose of this work is to utilize iron working and sheet metal trade skills to ensure the proper working order of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems, motor-driven vehicles and equipment and power tools.
