Pay Schedule XIII, Grade 6S, Regular Schedule: 40 hours per week Recruit Employment Bonus The Sheriff’s Office will award a Hiring Bonus of $6000 for Entry Level Deputy Sheriffs. The bonus will be paid in three (3) equal payments at the time of hire; after training; and after completion of probationary status. A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below. You MUST meet the following requirements before you can be hired as a Deputy Sheriff: Be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment; Have a high school diploma, GED, or an appropriate equivalent; Be a citizen of the United States; Have a valid driver's license; Pass the written examination; Pass the physical agility examination; Complete a comprehensive background investigation; Complete a psychological evaluation, polygraph examination and; Pass a physical and medical examination.
