WRF Maintenance Technician Trainee - Water

This position works on Utility Mechanic teams that repair equipment operated by the state-permitted water reclamation and lift station sites. The maintenance team maintains the water reclamation and lift station process safely and efficiently. This position is located in the Central Maintenance Division of the Water Department and will include mandatory on-call scheduling, with weekend and holiday hours. Performs preventative and regularly scheduled maintenance and repairs on major industrial equipment in the field: inspects, troubleshoots, disassembles, and overhauls equipment, such as cutters, bearings, chains, mechanical seals, gear reducers, sluice gates, compressors, lights, hydraulic controls, mechanical, structural and plumbing apparatus, belts, chains, conveyors, diesel and gas engines, pipes and piping systems, and pumps; checks and tests close tolerance; services, lubricates and adjusts chemical feed and processing equipment; determines excess wear and pump efficiencies; welds and fabricates parts; and adjusts valves and carburetors.
