Surveyor Manager (Engineer IV)

This position is situated within the Cobb DOT Engineering Division's Survey Department. It entails managing and directing survey project execution. The role involves supporting the survey group by performing tasks both in the office and in the field. It also requires coordinating tasks and projects with various Cobb DOT divisions and county departments as necessary. Develops, implements, and monitors division work plan, policies and procedures: formulates and develops work methods and practices, policies, services standards, standard operating procedures, training programs, etc.; monitors implementation of work processes, services standards, and policies and procedures by staff and contractors; updates division guidelines according to federal, state, or local rules and regulations; and oversees training programs. Administers contracts for equipment, supplies and services: conducts needs assessments; makes recommendations and assists in determining equipment, supplies, and services outlays.
