PARKS Maintenance Worker - Civic Center

This position is located in the Cobb County PARKS Department, at the Civic Center (548 South Marietta Pkwy, SE, Marietta, GA 30060) This position is responsible for the upkeep and routine maintenance of the Civic Center. Performs a variety of landscaping duties: mows grass; plants flowers and shrubs; weed eats around signs and fence lines; edges curb lines; clears leaves, tree limbs and other debris from park areas; spreads and hauls ground cover, dirt, or mulch; applies herbicides and pesticides; prunes trees and shrubs; weeds flower beds; aerates and spreads grass seed; services irrigation systems; grooms and lines ball fields; and removes snow and ice, etc. Performs maintenance and construction tasks for various parks and facilities: resurfaces and renovates playgrounds, fields and courts; paints buildings, equipment, and parking lots; repairs and assembles fences and playground equipment; builds sets and staging, shelves and other items; and performs light plumbing, electrical, masonry and carpentry repairs, etc. Performs general custodial duties at various parks and facilities: cleans parks, ball fields, restrooms, kitchens, locker rooms, meeting rooms, and other areas; vacuum
