Engineer IV

This position will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations and staff involved with the Development Services section within the Engineering and Records Division. The Development Services section involve Zoning, Plan Review, Permitting, and Inspections of water distribution and sanitary sewer infrastructure for new developments and re-developments for conformance with Cobb County Codes and Standards; establishing and creating new water accounts; and the installation of new water meters. Manages, directs, and evaluates assigned staff: develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; and acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
