DMFEA investigates and prosecutes fraud committed against California’s Medi-Cal programs and abuse and neglect committed against elder and dependent adults. The Deputy Attorney General (DAG) in this position prosecutes complex criminal cases in state courts, including (1) fraud committed by Medi-Cal providers, such as licensed physicians, pharmacists, and nurses, and (2) criminal abuses and neglect of elder and dependent adults residing in nursing homes and other residential care facilities.
