Correctional Sergeant

Limited Term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.Individuals who are eligible for Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.Under the direction of a Correctional Lieutenant, the Correctional Sergeant supervises Correctional Officers and oversees the safe custody, security, discipline, and welfare of the incarcerated population. The Sergeant monitors and evaluates staff performance, provides training and guidance, and ensures compliance with departmental policies, procedures, post orders, and safety requirements.The Sergeant also reviews reports and incident documentation for accuracy and completeness, conducts administrative disciplinary hearings, assists with inmate appeals, and maintains order and discipline within assigned areas.
