Attorney General's Honors Program

Deputy Attorneys General (DAGs) who are part of the Attorney General's Honors Program work in a Section within the California Department of Justice’s Civil, Criminal, or Public Rights Divisions, as part of a dynamic legal team committed to public service. Honors Program DAGs will have the opportunity to work on substantive legal matters of public interest and importance. They conduct legal and other research, and prepare a variety of legal documents, including briefs, memoranda, and legislative analyses, often under tight deadlines. They assist in special investigations and the preparation of cases before state and federal courts and administrative bodies. Honors Program DAGs also advise and represent clients, including state agencies, the California Attorney General, and other state officials and constitutional officers, on a vast array of legal matters.
