Electrical Engineer I/II

The current vacancy is in the Engineering Department and will be filled at either the Electrical Engineer I or Electrical Engineer II level. This recruitment will also be used to establish a Citywide list which may be used to fill possible future vacancies in other departments. Electrical Engineer I ( $69,685.41 - $97,620.22 Annually) An Electrical Engineer I performs technical electrical engineering tasks which supports the development of capital improvement projects and the operation and maintenance of the City’s electric utility. The Electrical Engineer I is the entry-level classification within the professional electrical engineering series. Assignments in Engineering and Energy Resources provide opportunities for the application of independent judgment and initiative in planning, operation, maintenance, design, and project management. Under general direction, an Electrical Engineer I performs basic calculations used to size transformers; calculate electrical loads; determine conductor sizes; fuse sizes; determine proper voltage configurations; calculate voltage losses for
