General Accounting Financial Division Manager, Senior

The purpose of this classification is to manage the operation and staff of a large, complex division in the Finance department. Manages the general accounting operations: prepares work papers, schedules and fund variances; responds to questions and provides information; assists in the preparation and review of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and other reports; performs fund and grant accounting and review for assigned funds and grants; posts journal entries and cash receipts; prepares wires; prepares and reviews reconciliations; reviews balance sheets; makes adjustments as needed; and manages special projects as assigned. Directly assists in the preparation and issuance of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) in accordance with established governmental accounting standards. Ensures compliance with all applicable GASB, GAAP, federal, and state regulations, and serves as a key point of coordination with external auditors during the annual audit process.
