Sales and Use Tax Section Chief – Career Executive

The position serves as the Section Chief over the Sales and Use Tax Section, and supervises unit supervisors who are each responsible for supervising revenue auditors or agents. This position will manage, plan, develop, implement, administer, monitor and evaluate the comprehensive auditing program. Activities in these programs include:Full and limited scope audits of tax records at taxpayer premises or through correspondence or electronic meansPreparing assessments of Wisconsin tax based on information received from the Internal Revenue Service or other third partiesLetter campaigns to prompt voluntary reporting of underreported taxReviewing returns in the processing stream to verify credits, withholding, and claims for refundTaxpayer education and assistance Recommendations for legislative changeTo see the full list of duties view the position description.
