GENERAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT Skating Attendant Ice Rink - Special Service Under general supervision, in connection with the operation of an indoor or outdoor municipal skating rink of the type indicated by the class title, to maintain order among skaters, perform routine work involving contacts with the public, perform manual tasks necessary for the operation of the public service enterprise, and to perform related work as required.l Be A Part of the City Patrol the rink on skates to promote the orderly movement of skaters. Circulate among skaters to prevent improper skating or other activity, and to protect property. Warn persons who fail to follow the rules and report to supervisor if behavior becomes disruptive or unsafe. As requested, give basic skating instruction, and assist participants in adjusting skates. Referee and keep score at "in-house" ice hockey games. Check shoes, clothing, and valuables. Maintain order in locker rooms. Monitor all public session skating events both on and off the ice.
