Electronics Technician

Recondition, diagnose, repair and test emergency lighting and siren systems, including light bar and deck light configurations designed with advanced lighting and sound technologies, which use processor controlled circuit boards and inter-members with other processors within the emergency vehicle. When the systems fail or they have been returned from the field, the ET is responsible for testing the electronic circuits with electronic devices and must repair or replace them prior to placing them back in service. Assist engineering staff in diagnosing malfunctioning alternating headlight systems, radio, sirens, antennas, voice recognition, heads up displays, license plate reader systems, mobile video and audio recording systems, automated citation systems and other electronic systems incorporated in the Department's enforcement vehicles.
