Utility Worker IV

These positions are located in the Cobb County Water System, System Maintenance Division. These positions will work four 10-hour shifts a week and will be required to be on a scheduled on-call status. The schedule will be as follows: Day Shift Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday (6:30am – 5:00pm) Swing Shift Monday - Thursday from 1:30 pm - 12:00 am. Takes the lead with the more technical aspects of the crew's work: confers with co-workers to assist with complex and problem situations and provide technical expertise; and assists with training and instructing co-workers regarding operational procedures and proper use of equipment. Installs, maintains, repairs, and replaces water and sewer lines and related system components: locates manholes, service connections, valves and other utilities, assists with the installation of new sewer taps; clears debris from manholes, water and sewer lines, sewer stream crossings, easements, valve boxes, etc.; inspects and evaluates condition of systems; diagnoses leaks, blockages or other problems; excavates around water and sewer infrastructure; installs appropriate repair fittings; replaces service lines; performs confined space entries into per
