Part-Time Driver

The part-time driver position is responsible for transporting older adults to and from senior centers, medical appointments, grocery stores, and other locations both within and outside Cobb County. This position requires the ability to work 29 hours per week, based on departmental needs, Monday through Friday. Transports clients to and from scheduled activities and appointments: obeys all traffic codes, ordinances, laws and regulations; assists clients on and off bus; assists clients with mobile devices and/or personal items; reviews route and schedule and makes changes as necessary; and reports to supervisor any changes in clients health/behavior. Operates equipment: operates shuttle buses with lifts; uses radio equipment to receive assignments; conducts daily vehicle safety inspection; maintains daily logs and safety equipment inventory; keeps vehicles clean and gassed; reports all maintenance and safety concerns to supervisor; and drives vehicle to Fleet Maintenance for regular service.
