Deputy Chief Financial Officer

The City of Jersey City is seeking a full-time Deputy Chief Financial Officer who will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and administration of annual operating and capital budget preparation and maintenance, long-range fiscal planning including cash flow forecasts, banking relations, bank reconciliations, cash management, bond issuances, capital structure, assistance with auditors and rating agencies, day to day supervision of staff and other duties as may be necessary in the management of the Department of Finance. Job Duties: • May review requisitions for appropriate expenditure of funds and follow up on questioned vouchers and requisitions. Authorizes the disbursement of funds. • Assists in the preparation of the budget. • Assigns and supervises work of subordinates. • Assists in directing the preparation of annual financial statements and reports required by law or contracts including the Annual Financial Statement, Annual Debt Statement and others as required by law. • May conduct periodic studies to determine effectiveness of current financial control methods and recommend strategies to improve internal controls. • Directs activities pertaining to disbursement a
