Job Description The Building Inspector I, II, and III positions are responsible for the inspection of residential and commercial construction sites for compliance with structural, mechanical (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), electrical, plumbing, and erosion control code and ordinance requirements, and applicable approved plans. Essential Duties Conducting field inspections of residential and commercial buildings and structures Preparing reports, forms, citations, and other code compliance information, and documenting in the department databases Responding to inquiries and concerns received from contractors, homeowners, and other customers pertinent to building construction and erosion control code compliance and corrective actions Performing other duties that support the objectives of the Inspections Section Assisting lower-level personnel with the interpretation of applicable codes, ordinances, and laws, and the inspection of construction sites (BUILDING INSPECTOR III ONLY) Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications Building Inspector I - Grade B22(2) Salary Range: $46,225 - $53,159 High School Diploma or G.E.D
