Under general supervision, performs skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of heavy and special motor equipment; and does related work as required. Examines and locates mechanical defects in a variety of heavy and special motor equipment such as power shovels, cranes, wrecker trucks, heavy tractor-trailers, catchbasin cleaning machines, motor graders, and other earth moving equipment.
