The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is seeking Traffic Signal Technicians 1 for the Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT).The Incumbent performs entry-level technical work in the installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of various types of traffic control devices including electro-mechanical traffic signals, Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) and cameras used to view traffic flow throughout Nashville. Conducts entry-level wiring into signal boxes on camera installations. The Incumbent performs related duties as required. Nashville’s transportation network includes traffic signal upgrades to ensuring timely operations for safer intersections and sidewalks in support of the Vision Zero initiative. The Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure delivers a range of services, and the nearly 400 employees work around the clock to ensure a multimodal system that offers choice and better connects neighborhoods, residents, businesses and visitors to the place that they need and want to go to in a safe manner.
