Make a difference in the lives of millions of Michigan motorists with a career as a Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Officer. No degree or experience required – pay and benefits while in training. Motor Carrier Officers are members of the Michigan State Police (MSP) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED). They specialize in commercial vehicles and duties include traffic enforcement, crash investigation, driver and vehicle inspections, criminal interdiction, hazardous material transport, regulatory compliance, weigh station operation, infrastructure protection, as well as general emergency response. Motor Carrier Officer's patrol is self-directed and encourages proactive and independent decision making. On receiving a conditional offer of employment, an applicant will be asked to submit their post assignment preference. Every effort is made to fulfill their request while balancing the personnel needs of the agency.
