In this Departmental Analyst role, you will independently research, analyze, and resolve the most complex and nuanced tax issues related to Michigan’s individual income tax. Your expertise will support the fair, consistent, and accurate application of Michigan tax statutes and administrative guidance. This position serves as a technical expert and thought partner within Treasury. Key responsibilities include developing formal position statements on IIT matters, providing specialized guidance to internal staff, and interpreting the impact of existing laws, policies, and procedures for both leadership and frontline personnel. You will analyze new and emerging legislation, help craft forms and instructions, and support the e-file/software environment through subject-matter expertise and developer assistance.
